Program Overview

The program starts in September of each year.
All courses are taught in English; therefore, a B2 level English proficiency is required.
Admission requires a high school certificate and passing entrance exams in Mathematics and Physics.
This is a 4-year program consisting of 8 academic semesters
Students earn 240 ECTS in total.
The tuition fee for this program is 7,500 USD/Year

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, a core component of the degree is a a 6-week practice at a company or research institute. This ensures that our graduates are ready for the global market.

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

A civil engineering degree prepares you for work in the construction industry as well as in the business, management and financial sectors. Jobs directly related to the degree include: building control surveyor, consulting civil engineer, contracting civil engineer, design engineer, structural engineer, building services engineer, construction manager.

 

How can I enroll in the program?

The University of Debrecen admission process is designed for international applicants through online written tests and oral interviews. Studying at the University of Debrecen is the key to your internationally recognized degree. We also offer a variety of academic merit-based scholarships.

 

What are the language requirements for Civil Engineering, Bsc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 513 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.5.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for Civil Engineering, Bsc?

Yes, admission is based on a high school certificate and online entrance exams in mathematics and Physics.

Please note that the BSc in Civil Engineering operates on a single-cycle academic calendar. This program only starts in September of each year. The application deadline is 15th June.

How much does it cost to study Civil Engineering at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 7,500 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.

What scholarships are available at the University of Debrecen?

We offer a variety of academic scholarships and merit-based tuition fee discounts. Depending on your home country's regulations you might apply for federal loan while studying abroad as well.
