The Nursing and Patient Care (Physiotherapy) BSc at the University of Debrecen (UD) is an eight-semester program consisting of 240 ECTS credits, with a strong emphasis on clinical practice. The program starts in September of each year.
 
All courses are taught in English; therefore, a B2 level English proficiency is required.
 
Admission requires a high school certificate; an entrance interview where the level of English, high school studies, motivation and communication skills of the applicant are assessed.
 
This is a 4-year program consisting of 8 academic semesters.
 
Students earn 240 ECTS in total.

What to expect during the program?

In the Nursing and Patient Care (Physiotherapy) BSc at the University of Debrecen, we put a significant emphasis on practical training and field-experience. The curriculum of the BSc in physiotherapy program aims to prepare students for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of movement system disorders and other diseases using the therapeutic tools of physiotherapy.

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, there is a compulsory internship of 14 weeks incorporated to the program structure.

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

The degree will open up a range of career opportunities in the following fields: health services, providing therapy and rehabilitation for a broad scale of diseases, institutions offering balneo- and hydrotherapy, home care, private sector, prevention and other healthcare-related fields.

What are the language requirements for Nursing and Patient Care (Physiotherapy) BSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 513 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.5.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

Please note that the BSc in Nursing and Patient Care (Physiotherapy) operates on a single-cycle academic calendar. This program only starts in September of each year.

How much does it cost to study Nursing and Patient Care (Physiotherapy) at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 7,000 USD / year for this program. This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
