The program starts in September of each year.

All courses are taught in English; therefore, a B2 level English proficiency is required.
Admission requires a high school certificate and passing entrance exams in Mathematics and either Chemistry or Biology.
This is a 3.5-year program consisting of 7 academic semesters
Students earn 210 ECTS in total (180 from academic modules plus 30 for the professional internship).
Costs:            The tuition fee for this program is 7,000 USD/Year

What to expect during the program?

The Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering is structured to take you from scientific theory to field-ready expertise. We don't just teach biology; we train you to engineer the systems that sustain the planet. You will complete a 12-week mandatory internship in your final semester, which acts as your bridge to the professional world, allowing you to apply the knowledge in a real-world setting.

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, a core component of the degree is a 12-week professional  (equivalent to 30 ECTS) internship completed in the final semester. This hands-on experience ensures graduates are well prepared for the global agricultural market.

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

Undergraduates may find employment in agricultural enterprises, even in management positions, in the field of agricultural advisory and administration, in research institutes, in their own farms as well as in advocacy organizations.

 

 

How can I enroll in the program?

Studying at the University of Debrecen is an investment in a globally recognized European degree. Our admission process consists of online written and oral exams to assess your academic potential. We also offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid packages based on talent and need.

 

What are the language requirements for Agricultural Engineering?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 513 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.5.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

 

Is there an entrance exam for Agricultural Engineering?

Yes, admission is based on a high school certificate and entrance exams in mathematics and either chemistry or biology for.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the BSc in Agricultural Engineering operates on a single-intake academic calendar. This program only starts in September of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June.

How much does it cost to study Agricultural Engineering at UD?

The tuition fee is 7,000 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.

What scholarships are available at the University of Debrecen?
