The University of Debrecen’s Psychology BA provides a deep dive into the theoretical foundations and practical methods of understanding human behavior. Program Overview

 
The program starts in September of each year.
 
All courses are taught in English; therefore, a B2 level English proficiency is required.
 

Admission requires a high school certificate; an English Placement Test with an Oral Entrance Exam. Applicants also have to fill in an Online Multiple-Choice Test

 
This is a 3-year program consisting of 6 academic semesters.
 
Students earn 180 ECTS in total.

What to expect during the program?  

The aim of UD’s Psychology BA program is to introduce students into the theoretical foundations and basic methods of psychology and also, to give an insight into the applied branches of psychology. The program develops the skills of the students and provides them with techniques that can be used in order to measure, explore and develop individuals, groups or organizations through professional measures and intervention. Students will obtain an integrated knowledge of education, communication, socialization, learning and human development. The BA program offers a solid basis (in terms of knowledge and approaches) for further learning in any psychology MA program.

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

No, there is no compulsory internship is included in the program.

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

A human behavior analyst can contribute to completing tasks in any organization, field, or institute, where education, recruitment, selection, or health activities take place. Furthermore, a human behavior analyst can also work in any psychological laboratory and can complete and evaluate several standard experiments and aptitude tests used, for example in organisational psychology.

It is important, that a behaviour analyst should work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.Thus, for fulfilling the responsible work of a qualified psychologist MA qualification in psychology is needed. However, a human behavior analyst can effectively assist among others the work of a school psychologist, organization psychologist, or the work of scientific researcher.

 

 

How can I enroll in the program?

Earning a degree at the University of Debrecen in Hungary provides an EU-accredited qualification recognized across the globe. The admission process is conducted entirely online, featuring written and oral entrance exams designed to evaluate subject-specific knowledge and personal motivation. We also offer a variety of academic merit-based scholarships for our students.

What are the language requirements for Psychology, BA?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 513 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.5.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for Psychology, BA?

Yes, applicants are required to go through an entrance process, which includes an English Placement Test. In addition, all candidates take an online multiple-choice psychology test based on a specific chapter they select from a given. Finally, successful applicants participate in an online oral interview to discuss their chosen topic and professional motivations.

Please note that the BSc in Psychology BA operates on a single-cycle academic calendar. This program only starts in September of each year. The application deadline is 15th June.

How much does it cost to study Psychology, BA at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 6,000  USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
