The Social Work and Social Economics, MA program at the University of Debrecen (UD) focuses on understanding social issues and the economic contexts behind them. Students learn how to support individuals and communities while also gaining insight into how social services and welfare systems operate, preparing them for work in social care, public services, or non-profit organizations.| | The program starts in September of each year. | |

The goal of the program is to integrate and balance the professional standards of social work with the challenges of the social economy.
The purpose of the program is to train professionals who, with the acquired socio-political and managerial skills are able to manage, operate and develop institutions and services in the social economy. The graduates, who are knowledgable of the international professional and ethical principles of social assistance, are able to carry out tasks in international cooperation.
With the appropriate organizational and organizational development skills, they perform tasks in the field of social services, which, by strengthening the local economy, promote the economic and social integration of disadvantaged social groups.
An additional goal is to prepare graduates, who are able to conduct and evaluate scientific-empirical research, on the basis of which they can develop new models and concepts, not only in Hungary but also in international comparison.

Please note that the MA in Social Work and Social Economics operates on a single-intake academic calendar. This program starts in September of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June for the September intake.

The tuition fee is 5,500 USD/year for this program.
This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
