The program starts in September and February of each year.
 
All courses are taught in English; therefore, an Upper-B2 level English proficiency is required.
 

Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in law.

 
This is a 1-year program consisting of 2 academic semesters.
 
Students earn 60 ECTS in total.

The program provides a modern, business-focused law degree with a special European character, focusing on the tendencies of the European and international markets. The program gives students the opportunity to boost their legal expertise to a more advanced level, as they learn how European and international law make a remarkable impact on business life, and explore both legislative and judicial elements of European business law, trade law, and corporate law. The LLM is practice-oriented and develops skills needed to succeed in an international career path and at all workplaces requiring cross-cultural understanding, flexibility, and contemporary practical legal knowledge.

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

No, the program does not include an internship.

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

Graduates can choose from a wide range of positions at organizations such as international departments of law firms, international businesses, international bureaus of government services, or other international organizations.

 

 

How can I enroll in the program?

Studying at the University of Debrecen puts you on the path towards an internationally recognized European degree. Our admission process consists of an online interview to assess your academic potential. We also offer a variety of academic scholarships and merit-based tuition fee discounts.

 

What are the language requirements for European and International Business Law, LL.M.?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least Upper-Intermediate /B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 547 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for European and International Business Law, LL.M.?

Students applying to our graduate programs will participate in an interview where we assess their motivation, personal skills, and English proficiency.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the LL.M. in European and International Business Law operates on a double-intake academic calendar. This program starts both in September and February of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June for the September intake, and 15th November for the February intake.

How much does it cost to study European and International Business Law, LL.M. at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 7,500 USD/year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
