The program starts both in September and February of each year.
 
All courses are taught in English; therefore, an Upper-B2 level English proficiency is required.
 

Admission requires a Bachelor's degree in mechatronics or a related field.

 
This is a 2-year program consisting of 4 academic semesters.
 
Students earn 120 ECTS in total.

What to expect during the program?

The aim of the program is to train mechatronics engineers who are capable of integrating engineering with electronics, electrotechnics, and computer control in a synergetic way at a global standard. They are able to formulate concepts, to model, design, produce and subsequently maintain and control mechatronic machinery, processes, systems and intelligent machines. They are able to develop and apply new technologies, procedures, and materials; to provide managerial and organizational tasks; and to be involved in and manage engineering development, research, design, and innovation in domestic as well as international engineering projects in the field of mechatronics.

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, students should complete a 4-week field practice by working at a company or firm over the course of the internship period (in summer).

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

Graduates can choose from a wide range of positions in the fields of robotics, nanotechnology, automation, aircraft engineering, transport, and computer-aided design.

 

 

How can I enroll in the program?

What are the language requirements for Mechatronical Engineering, MSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least Upper-Intermediate / B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 547 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for Mechatronical Engineering, MSc?

Students applying to our graduate programs will participate in an interview where we assess their motivation, personal skills, and English proficiency.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the MSc in Mechatronical Engineering operates on a double-intake academic calendar. This program starts both in September and February of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June for the September intake, and 15th November for the February intake.

How much does it cost to study Mechatronical Engineering, MSc at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 8,000 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
