We hereby inform you that, effective from 1 August 2021, the legal status of the University of Debrecen (registered seat: 4032 Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1, represented by Prof. Dr. Zoltán Szilvássy, rector and Prof. Dr. Zoltán Bács, chancellor) will change from publicly funded body to foundation-maintained, state recognized, publicly useful higher education institute, and its maintainer and proprietor from 1 August 2021 will be the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen (registered seat: 4032 Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1, registration number: 09-01-0002271, tax number: 19306816 1-09, represented by György Géza Kossa, chairperson of the Board of Trustees).
Pursuant to Section 117/C (3) of Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education, after the change of maintainer, the new entity will be the general and sole legal successor of the formerly publicly funded body.
From 1 August 2021, the following data of the University of Debrecen will not change:
The individual tax number and bank account numbers of the University of Debrecen change from 1 August 2021.

Foundation of UD Registered
The Tribunal of Debrecen has registered the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen, which will be responsible for maintaining and operating the University of Debrecen. With this major step, the model change in tertiary education has reached another milestone at UD.

The Advisory Board of the Foundation Maintaining the University of Debrecen has been Established
The first meeting of the Advisory Board of the Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen was held on 8 July 2021. The event was also attended by the members of the Supervisory Committee, the asset controller, the auditor and the secretary of the Advisory Board.
