Practical information

please make sure that you have filled this form about your travel details, meal preferences, etc., to help us with the arrangement of the event;
we are hoping that the weather will remain nice and warm for the duration of your visit, however, September month is quite unpredictable in Hungary ( it can be 15-28 Celsius with sunny, rainy or windy weather). Please make sure to pack some warm clothes as well as comfortable shoes for the campus tours and sightseeing;
in case you would like to have any private meetings with director Prof. Jenei or other members of our team please make sure to arrange it in advance. However, our team will be present at the programs and you will have the chance to approach them any time.
make sure to keep to the schedule and be on time, the buses must leave according to the agenda. Please respect each other and be at the meeting points 5 minutes before the given time;
your booking in Hotel Divinus covers the following:
- superior room for 3 nights;
- dinner on 11th September evening: although the restaurant will be closed after 22:00, you will receive a dinner package from the hotel upon arrival;
- breakfast on 12-14 September, lunch on 12 September;
- use of the hotel's wellness and fitness section.

Kindly note that no extra services are included in the booking, thank you for your understanding.

12 September

Morning: Roundtable workshop on 5 different topics

Venue: Degenfeld-Schomberg Mansion (bus transfer provided)

Dress code: business casual

Please note that pre-registration is required for the workshop in order to assign the tables in each session.

You can choose 4 out of the below 5 topics and register for the sessions as you wish:

News at the University of Debrecen - Dr. László Kozma (program director)
Application and admission to the University of Debrecen and the Stuart system - Ms. Adrienn Gagna-Szakó (admission coordinator) and Ms. Ibolya Kun (admission coordinator)
Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program - Ms. Mária Tóth (SH coordinator)
Marketing activity of the UD – Focus on social media platforms and marketing campaigns 2023 - Ms. Dóra Mónus (marketing coordinator)
Visa application and immigration requirements - Mr. János Borbély (Immigration Office)

At 30-minute intervals, participants will be alerted to move to a different table for the next session.

Afternoon: Free time activity

A few tips on how to spend your afternoon:

guided sightseeing in Debrecen with Ms. Eszter Balázsy (pre-registration is required, meeting at Hotel Divinus reception at 14:30)
last stop: shopping mall
meeting with your students in Debrecen, please make sure to pre-arrange it
visit the UD, or our office – if you would like to have a meeting with any of our colleagues please make sure to pre-arrange it
Enjoy the spa facilities at Hotel Divinus
simply have a rest or go shopping by yourself
change for the afternoon-evening event

Optional sightseeing in Debrecen:

Meeting: 2:30 pm at the receiption of Hotel Divinus

A minibus will take you downtown and Ms. Eszter Balázsy (marketing coordinator) will be your tour guide in the wonderful and historical city of Debrecen.

Feel free to dress comfortably and make sure to be prepared for any kind of weather.

The bus will return from Debrecen city center to Hotel Divinus at 4:00 pm.

Evening: Team-building and networking dinner

Location: Degenfeld-Schomberg Mansion

13 September

On the second day of the program, we offer A and B options for the morning, afternoon, and evening. We ask all of our new partners to attend program A in the morning, as we would like to make sure that you visit the campus of the University of Debrecen to have and share first-hand information with your students.

The rest of the programs are optional, but pre-registration is required.

Morning program A - Campus tour

You will visit three campuses of the UD: the main campus (medical, health science, and science programs), the Kassai Street Campus (IT, Public Health, and Law), and the Böszörményi Street Campus (Agricultural and Business programs)

Feel free to dress comfortably and make sure to be prepared for any kind of weather.

Morning program B - Chef Academy

Chef Academy concocted an exciting plan for you, where a 3-hour cooking workshop will be seasoned with theoretical and practical games.

Afternoon program A - Great Forest Park

Discover the calming environment near the UD main campus including Lake Békás, the Open-air Theatre and the Water Tower within a green forest area!

Afternoon program B - Visit to Debrecen Iconic Buildings

Visit the Museum of Reformed College in Debrecen. Your visit here will help you understand why Debrecen became the most important bastion of the Reformed faith in Hungary. Bedecked with majestic murals, the building’s stairwell leads to the entrance of the gigantic library storing more than 600,000 volumes, the Csokonai Room, and the Oratory that housed Hungary’s National Assembly in 1849.

The tour is complemented by a visit to the Reformed Great Church. Debrecen’s symbol is one of the nation’s largest Reformed churches, a building of major historical significance.

Evening program - yoUDay Stadium Show

This is UD’s one of a kind, exclusive semester opening stadium show, not only for UD citizens! It’s magical and truly unforgettable, unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. YoUDay can only be described as an extraordinary show with a vibrant spirit and packed with unforgettable moments.

Dinner is served in the private Skybox of the Stadium.
