Around 150 students will continue their studies at the University of Debrecen in the first semester of the 2024/25 academic year under Erasmus+ and other programs and inter-institutional agreements.
- Most of the students come from Erasmus+ program countries, with a significant number of students from Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Turkey. In the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility program, the institution has also hosted students from several African countries, including South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania and Angola, who have been studying at the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. In the framework of inter-institutional agreements, students from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have also come to the Faculty of Humanities, and the Fulbright program has also provided a six-month research grant to an American PhD student," said Orsolya Jánosy, Head of the International Office of the University of Debrecen.
On Wednesday, the foreign students had the opportunity to taste Hajdúság stuffed cabbage, strudel and scones at the welcome dinner, and the Szeredás Ensemble provided a good atmosphere.
- Of course, the students of the University of Debrecen also had the opportunity to continue their studies anywhere in the world. The Pannonia Scholarship Program, launched this spring, offers a wide range of mobility opportunities, with UD students participating in part-time training, internships and short study trips. The summer already saw the start of internship trips, with 160 students having been awarded grants so far, 90 of whom have already started their mobility in partner institutions abroad," said Orsolya Jánosy.
Applications for student internships can be submitted on a continuous basis, and for the spring semester of the 2024/25 academic year, the application deadline for students to apply for the spring semester is 6 October 2024.
In addition to the usual types of applications, from this year onwards, university staff can also apply for funding to give a presentation at an international conference. The deadline for applications is 22 September 2024, but a new call for applications is expected in January 2025.
For those interested in opportunities abroad, an excellent opportunity will be the Foreign Affairs Exchange on the first day of October, where students and staff will be able to find out more in person. All calls for applications are available on the International Office website of UD.
