Academics

Jhon Nicolas

"I was still 17 years old when I was accepted in the University of Debrecen. I had just graduated from High school and I was full of dreams and fears for the new opportunity that I had in my hands. I decided to take the chance and try something completely different. Later when I just turned 18, I arrived to Debrecen.

Soon I was able to stablish and make this city and this university my very home. The experience of learn from hundreds of different cultures and people, and to share my own culture its unique and amazing.

I’m studying a Mechatronics engineering bachelor program, and I know the University of Debrecen was just the right choice for me, from the academic facet to the friends I have made in the way.

It’s hard to face all the insecurities and fears that a new experience brings along, more if you are abroad, away from your family and the things you know. But I can say this University and the city of Debrecen is more than capable to help you in the process, with a high-level education, spaces and friends. So, I advise you that if you want to get out of your comfort zone and to study abroad, the University of Debrecen is the right place."
