University delegation in China 07. May. 2024

The delegation, which was led by Károly Pető, Vice-Rector General, and included Okszána Kiszil, Director of Coordination and Strategy, and Ildikó Bácskay, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, paid visits to two universities in Nanjing and three institutions of higher education in Shanghai on behalf of the University of Debrecen. They held discussions in order to prepare a cooperation agreement with the management of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as well as with China Pharmaceutical University, the first national pharmaceutical higher education institution in China.
The representatives of our university management visited two technical institutions of higher education in Shanghai to review already existing cooperation and evaluate doctoral studies. At Shanghai DianJi University and Shanghai University of Electric Power, they also discussed the initiative One Belt, One Road, as well as the university alliance led by Shanghai University of Electric Power, which includes ten Chinese and several foreign universities, including the University of Debrecen as a potential candidate for joining the alliance.

The round of university visits comprised Shanghai Jiao Tong University, too, where professional discussions were held with the leaders of the School of Pharmacy while the preparation of an agreement on cooperation between the two institutions was initiated.

Vice Rector General Károly Pető, Director of Coordination and Strategy Okszána Kiszil and Dean Ildikó Bácskay, together with Director of the International Education Coordination Center Attila Jenei, Coordinator László Kozma and Managing Director of Debrecen Universitas Nonprofit Public Benefit Ltd. Adrián Nagy, jointly participated in the 13th Educational Global Partners Conference (EGPC) in Nanjing.
More than 150 Chinese universities were represented at this event, as well as their international partners and agents associated with the hosting iStudy Education Group. The conference also included a Sino-Hungarian Higher Education Forum, which was attended by delegations from five universities in Hungary: the University of Debrecen, Budapest Metropolitan University, Eötvös Loránd University, Neumann János University and the University of Sopron.
