A delegation from Tibet has visited the University of Debrecen 25. Oct. 2023

The delegation of the the representatives of the Department of Organization, the Foreign Affairs Office and the Hospital of the Tibetan Autonomous Region and of the University of Tibet took a short guided tour in the Main Building of the University of Debrecen at the beginning of their visit, covering among others the Confucius Institute of our university, which serves the cause of teaching Mandarin Chinese language and the promotion of Chinese culture.

After a brief immersion into the history of the university and its main building, the members of the delegation had a meeting with Zoltán Szabó, Vice Rector and President of the Clinical Center.

“The purpose of the visit was to review the possible future connecting links between the health care systems in Tibet and at the University of Debrecen, together with the related educational and research activities. We discussed how traditional Tibetan medicine could approach the cutting-edge European medicine represented by our university. The delegation showed particular interest in the possibilities of future cooperation with the cardiology and emergency university care system,” said Professor Zoltán Szabó to

The Vice Rector of the University of Debrecen and President of the Clinical Center added that, at Tuesday's meeting, the idea of the establishment and future expansion of exchange relations between Tibet and the University of Debrecen was also raised.

Following the meeting, the members of the delegation visited, among others, the Emergency Clinic of our university, the Cardiovascular Center at the Auguszta site of Nagyerdei Campus, and they also explored the building of the future Children's Emergency Center, which is expected to be inaugurated soon.
